Russians shell village near Kharkiv, one killed
That's according to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"The Russian occupiers continue to terrorize the civilian population of Kharkiv region. Around 9 am, the urban-type settlement of Kozacha Lopan of the Derhachi community was shelled. A 61-year-old man was killed as a result of the massive shelling," the statement said.
It is noted that several buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged in the central part of the village. According to Vyacheslav Zadorenko, head of the Derhachi community, the invaders fired at the village from tanks.
"According to the updated information, a massive shelling of Kozacha Lopan was carried out from a tank. Russians struck about 20 times at private houses and civilian infrastructure. A man born in 1962 received a direct shrapnel wound to the lungs and died almost immediately," Zadorenko informed.
According to him, about two dozen private households and outbuildings were damaged, as well as the administrative building of the Kozacha Lopan starosta district.
As reported, Kozacha Lopan, captured by Russian troops on the first day of the invasion, was liberated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in September last year.
