
Number of children injured by Russian aggression in Ukraine rises to 1,036
“As of the morning of July 2, 2023, more than 1,530 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 494 children were killed and more than 1,036 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said in a post on Telegram.
It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 472, Kharkiv region - 285, Kyiv region - 129, Kherson region - 113, Zaporizhzhia region – 91, Mykolaiv region - 89, Dnipropetrovsk region – 83, Chernihiv region – 71, and Luhansk region – 67.
On Sunday, July 1, an 14-year-old boy was injured in enemy artillery shelling of Balakliia, Kharkiv region.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine has information on the whereabouts of 19,498 children deported by Russia.
