
Russians killed 490 children in Ukraine since war-start
“As of the morning of June 19, 2023, more than 1,516 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 490 children were killed and more than 1,026 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said in a post on Telegram.
In Ukraine, since Russia’s full-scale invasion, 13,812 children are considered to have been found.
It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 465, Kharkiv region - 284, Kyiv region - 129, Kherson region - 113, Zaporizhzhia region – 91, Mykolaiv region - 89, Dnipropetrovsk region – 81, Chernihiv region – 71, and Luhansk region – 67.
On Sunday, June 18, a 5-year-old boy was killed in Russia’s shelling of Bilopillia, Sumy region.
As reported by Ukrinform, according to the data provided by the Ukrainian Ombudsman's Office, 168 evacuated orphanages are remaining abroad.
