About 300 private houses damaged in Russian missile attack on Pavlohrad on May 1

About 300 houses and 24 educational institutions were damaged in a Russian missile attack on Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, on the night of May 1.

"A terrible night. About 300 private houses, two healthcare facilities, 13 schools, and 11 kindergartens were damaged," Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council Mykola Lukashuk told a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

According to him, more than 1,800 residents of the town contacted the mayor's helpline. The regional council allocated a subvention of UAH 3 million in total to the victims, the town authorities – UAH 6 million.

When asked whether the attack made Pavlohrad residents leave the town, Lukashuk said that no one is leaving the town and people are rebuilding their homes.

Regarding the renewal of the educational process in Pavlohrad schools which are currently transferred to remote learning, a mixed form of education, the head of the regional council noted that this will depend on the terms of repairs in the damaged educational institutions.

Earlier it was reported that an industrial enterprise, 24 apartment blocks, 80 private houses, five schools, the same number of kindergartens and shops, an outpatient clinic, a bank, and a dormitory were damaged in Pavlohrad as a result of the May 1 missile attack. Two people were killed and 48 people, including six children, were injured.
