Restoration of Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant carried out without using city budget funds
According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv City State Administration reported this.
"Projects to restore damaged or destroyed equipment at the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant are being carried out by Euro-Reconstruction LLC using the company’s own funds and available resources. This work is being carried out without using city budget funds. However, in close and constructive coordination with the city, as it is an important part of Kyiv’s energy resilience plan and preparations for winter,” said Petro Panteleev, Acting First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
According to him, the implementation of Kyiv’s energy resilience plan is ongoing across all key areas—restoration, distributed cogeneration, expansion of backup power sources, and more.
He added that city authorities will provide updates on the current status of the plan’s implementation and winter preparation measures that have already been completed or initiated, in accordance with safety regulations.
As previously reported, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko said the Darnytsia Thermal Power Plant sustained critical damage during the Russian attack on Kyiv on February 3, and it will take at least two months to restore its systems and equipment.
