Ukraine ready for enemy provocations in southern operational zone - spox
This was reported by the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of Operational Command South, Natalia Humeniuk, who spoke on the air of the national telethon, reports Ukrinform.
"In fact, there are so many of them there that they can be divided into several episodes. And so it happens that they could leave some forces to hold the right bank (of the Dnipro - ed.). But the fact that they are preparing for defending the left bank is also quite an eloquent move. The fact that they are trying to impose onto the citizens remaining there and the international community the idea of them preparing for urban warfare is also one of the features of their behavior, their further operation, and further development of events," Humeniuk stressed.
She emphasized that Ukraine’s forces were prepared for all kinds of enemy provocations.
"We are ready for all kinds of provocations. They have already tried to accuse the Armed Forces, in advance, of blowing up the HPP, then of deploying a ‘dirty bomb’. That is, they constantly try to spin some insinuations in order to create a distraction from the actual processes. But we are watching them closely, we see and understand what’s happening. They have a certain confusion of their own, as they are currently developing and scrolling through several different scenarios of how the events could develop further," Humeniuk noted.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff, Brigadier General Oleksii Hromov does not rule out that Russian troops during the evacuation from Kherson region are capable of carrying out acts of terror in the area by blowing up residential buildings.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Yaroslav Yanushevych, has appealed to the residents of the temporarily occupied region to ignore the calls made by the Russian invaders for the so-called evacuation. According to the official the enemy seeks to take Kherson people hostage and use them as a "human shield."
