Ukraine’s air defenses down 113 out of 142 Russian drones in overnight attack
The Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
Starting from 18:00 on Sunday, the enemy attacked Ukraine with 142 strike UAVs, including Shahed-type drones (some jet-powered), as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and other types. Around 100 of them were Shahed drones.
The launches were carried out from multiple directions, including Kursk, Bryansk, Oryol, Millerovo, Shatalovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, drone units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 8:00 on Monday, April 20, air defenses shot down or suppressed 113 drones over northern, southern, and eastern regions of Ukraine.
Impacts by 28 strike UAVs were recorded across 18 locations, while debris from downed drones fell in six locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, residential buildings, cars, and power lines were damaged in Mykolaiv as Russian drones attacked the city.
