Five dead, 18 injured by Russian missile strikes on Vinnytsia region

Five people were killed and 18 were injured as a result of missile attacks carried out by Russian troops on Zhmerynka and Koziatyn, Vinnytsia region.

This was stated by the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office, Ukrinform reports.

“On the morning of April 25, Russian occupation forces launched missiles at transport infrastructure facilities near the towns of Zhmerynka and Koziatyn in Vinnytsia region... Investigators, prosecutors, and other agencies are working at the scene. As a result of enemy shelling, five people were killed and 18 were injured. The report is being verified,” the statement reads.

Investigators with the Vinnytsia Regional Department of Ukraine’s Security Service initiated criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on charges of “intentional actions committed to alter the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine, which led to the deaths of people and other serious consequences.” The Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office provides procedural guidance.

As Ukrinform reported, the cities of Zhmerynka and Koziatyn, Vinnytsia region, were hit by Russian missiles Monday, April 25. A fire that erupted after the strike in Zhmerynka has been put out.
