War update: 134 clashes on frontline, heaviest fighting in Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk sectors

Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defensive positions 134 times since the beginning of the day. The enemy is most active in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors, with increased activity in the Huliaipole sector.

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00 on April 9, 2026, on Facebook.

“A total of 134 combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day. The enemy carried out one missile strike using a single missile and 41 airstrikes, dropping 125 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it deployed 6,483 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,566 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troop positions,” the report states.

According to the General Staff, in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy carried out four airstrikes using six guided aerial bombs, conducted 62 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, two of which involved multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy launched four attacks on Ukrainian positions near Vovchanski Khutory, Prylypky, and Starytsia. One assault is ongoing.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attacked six times near Petropavlivka, Novoosynove, and toward Lyman. One attack is ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian forces repelled five enemy assaults toward Lyman, Dibrova, Novomykhailivka, and Tverdokhlibove. One assault is ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy attempted to advance once toward Rai-Oleksandrivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the invaders launched one attack toward Nykyforivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the enemy conducted 22 assaults on Ukrainian positions near Stepanivka, Pleshchiivka, Rusyn Yar, Ivanopillia, and toward Illinivka, Sofiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Novopavlivka. One attack is ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy carried out 28 attacks. The invaders attempted to advance near Ivanivka, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Shevchenko, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Novopavlivka, Molodetske, Myrne, Kotlyne, and Novopidhorodnie. Three assaults are ongoing.

Preliminary estimates indicate that 70 invaders were eliminated and 26 were wounded in this sector today; four vehicles were destroyed; a UAV control post, 13 shelters, a tank, an artillery piece, and one vehicle were damaged. A total of 220 UAVs of various types were destroyed or suppressed.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces launched six attacks near Oleksandrohrad, Vorone, Zlahoda, and toward Andriivka-Klevtsove. One assault is ongoing.

In the Huliaipole sector, 17 enemy attacks were recorded near Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Varvarivka, Hirkе, Huliaipilske, Staroukrainka, and Dobropillia. Five assaults are ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy did not conduct any assault operations.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy attempted to attack three times in the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge.

No significant changes were reported on other fronts.

As Ukrinform reported, the Russian army is redeploying military equipment toward Huliaipole via temporarily occupied Mariupol in the Donetsk region.
