In a post on his Facebook page, Serhiy Kondrachuk wrote that such appeals would be approved by the heads of all regional councils of Ukraine, adding that this is the position of all Ukrainians who are resisting the Moscow occupier on their own, preventing it from moving forward.
“I, Serhiy Kondrachuk, the Chairman of the Rivne Regional Council, appeal to NATO member states, the Presidents of the United States and France, the Chancellor of Germany, and the ambassadors of all countries to close the skies over Ukraine. Every minute lost is the death of our citizens, women, and children and the destruction of our cities and villages. You need to act immediately!” Kondrachuk wrote.
The Ivano-Frankivsk City Council at its session also approved an appeal to NATO to close the airspace over Ukraine.
“Members of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council at the 21st session appealed to NATO to close the airspace over Ukraine! I believe that all city councils of Ukraine should join,” Ruslan Martsinkiv wrote on Facebook following the meeting
Members of the Kirovohrad Council also called on “NATO member states to gain courage and close the skies over Ukraine”.
"Today, at the session of the city council, we appealed to NATO member states, presidents of the United States, France, the Chancellor of Germany, ambassadors of all countries to close the skies over Ukraine," Mayor of Kropyvnytskyi Andriy Raikovych wrote on Facebook.
