G7 countries ready to actively support Ukraine's reconstruction – Canadian finance minister

The international community remains committed to supporting Ukraine in ending the war and in its future reconstruction.

According to Ukrinform, Canadian Finance Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne made the remarks while commenting on the participation of a Ukrainian representative at the G7 finance ministers' summit.

"The participation of our Ukrainian friends in the G7 summit speaks volumes for the world. It sends a strong message to the world that we, all of us, are recommitting to support Ukraine. We're going to hold Russia to account," Champagne said.

He added that a key focus of the summit was Ukraine's post-war recovery. "We all must support Ukraine's reconstruction. They are fighting for democracy not just for themselves, but for the entire world. That's why we will stand shoulder to shoulder with our Ukrainian friends to end this conflict and rebuild," Champagne said.

The G7 finance ministers' summit is currently taking place in Canada, with Ukraine's Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko also participating.
