Gerasimov lies about 'complete occupation of Luhansk region' for second time – CCD

Ukrinform
Russian officials continue to spread false claims about the situation on the front, in particular regarding the alleged full occupation of Luhansk region, which is part of an information campaign supporting the continuation of the war.

According to Ukrinform, Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, stated this on Telegram.

"Gerasimov lied for the second time about the 'complete occupation of Luhansk region'. Previously, he had already lied about the 'occupation of Kupiansk'," he noted.

According to Kovalenko, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, belongs to a wing of Russian elites that advocates continuing the war at any cost.
