Syrskyi suspends heads of Odesa Regional and Peresyp District Territorial Recruitment Centers
According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Ground Forces stated this on Facebook.
Following the detention by the Internal Security Department of the Security Service of Ukraine of servicemen from notification groups of the Peresyp District TCC, an internal investigation has been launched within the Armed Forces.
By decision of the Commander-in-Chief, the heads of both the Odesa Regional TCC and the Peresyp District TCC have been suspended from performing their official duties.
The head of the Main Directorate of the Military Law Enforcement Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has also been instructed to conduct a service investigation into the incident.
The Ground Forces emphasized that any violations of the law, abuse of authority, or unlawful actions are unacceptable and must receive an appropriate legal assessment.
Law enforcement agencies are being fully assisted in conducting the relevant inspections and investigations.
As Ukrinform reported, in Odesa, SSU officers detained eight representatives of the Peresyp District TCC and one district police officer.
According to sources from Suspilne within the SSU, the detainees allegedly demanded $50,000.
The reasons and circumstances of the detention have not been officially disclosed. It is noted, however, that there were no fatalities or injuries.
The Odesa Regional TCC confirmed the detention of servicemen from one of the city’s district TCCs by law enforcement officers.
Reports of a detention on Balkivska Street in Odesa involving a chase and gunfire appeared on April 21 in local Telegram channels.
