Zelensky awards 53 Ukrainians with state honors
The head of state announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
The corresponding decree No. 1/2026 has already been published on the website of the President of Ukraine.
“Today, I signed a decree awarding state awards to 53 Ukrainians from different regions of Ukraine. Behind each of these awards are stories of strength and responsibility,” Zelensky said.
According to him, among the awardees are people who rescued the wounded from under the rubble after shelling, restored and launched power plants to bring light back to homes, operated on the wounded without sleep or rest, and found the strength to volunteer and help others.
"Each of them supported people and the country in their own way when it was most difficult. They rescued, treated, restored, supported, did not let people give up, and restored faith. It is thanks to such people that Ukraine has survived and continues to live," the President said.
As reported, on December 30, Volodymyr Zelensky awarded state honors to 300 National Guard members, police officers, rescuers, and border guards, 75 of them posthumously. The corresponding decree No. 1010/2025 of December 30 was published on the website of the head of state.
