Evacuating civilians from Donetsk region is a priority ahead of winter – Klymenko

“Together with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, we discussed pressing regional issues with Vadym Filashkin, Head of the Regional Military Administration. For the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the top priority is the safety of the people,” Klymenko posted on Telegram.

Klymenko emphasized that evacuating residents from dangerous areas remains one of the most urgent challenges, as Russia continues to deliberately target critical infrastructure to inflict greater suffering on civilians.

He noted that the risks will only intensify with the onset of colder weather.

“Police units “White Angel” and the State Emergency Service’s “Phoenix” teams are already conducting extensive outreach among local residents about the urgent need to evacuate from dangerous areas. Special attention is being given to people with disabilities, the elderly, and families with children,” the minister stressed.

According to Klymenko, during the working visit, Svyrydenko met with National Guard troops, border guards, police officers, rescue workers, and service center staff who are serving and working in the Donetsk region. The discussions focused on logistical support, task execution, and the current operational situation in the region.

“We presented well-deserved awards to our resilient and tireless personnel. I’m grateful to the Prime Minister for her attention and support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. Together, we’re strengthening the safety of people in the region,” Klymenko added.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Yuliia Svyrydenko met with commanders of units operating in the Donetsk sector and presented awards to military personnel.
