A false claim alleging the secret mobilization of 17-year-old orphans in Ukraine’s Sumy region is actively spreading across social media.

The Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"This information is completely false and is part of a large-scale disinformation campaign by the enemy aimed at discrediting Ukraine's mobilization efforts," the statement said.

According to Ukrainian law, only citizens aged 25 to 60 are subject to mobilization. The center also emphasized that individuals under 25 may join the Ukrainian Armed Forces only on a voluntary basis by signing a contract.
