Up to 10,000 pilgrims from all over the world are planning to visit the gravesite of Rabbi Nachman and celebrate the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, in Uman this year.
Ben-Noon Natan, president of the Rabbi Nachman of Breslov Charitable Foundation, said this at a press conference on Thursday, August 20, According to an Ukrinform correspondent,
"Between 5,000 and 10,000 pilgrims are expected to come. This is much less than usual. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, people from the risk group will not go to Ukraine. There will be no celebration at all, there will be just the arrival of guests," he said.
According to him, every week before the Jewish New Year, 1,500 pilgrims will arrive in Ukraine by 12 planes.
This year, Rosh Hashanah falls on September 18-20.
