Almost 600,000 residents of Donbas, mainly in the temporarily occupied territories, do not have unfettered access to food.

This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Ukraine for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons, citing Country Director of the UN World Food Program for Ukraine Dorte Ellehammer.

"These people do not have access to food for various reasons. There are currently 600,000 such people. Most of them live in the areas which are not controlled by the Government of Ukraine," Ellehammer said at a briefing in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region.

UN World Food Program in Ukraine is working in Luhansk and Donetsk regions to assist the people who today are not protected in terms of food security.
