EU ambassadors approve €90 billion loan for Ukraine and 20th package of sanctions against Russia
A spokesperson for the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union informed a Ukrinform correspondent of this.
Today, both the €90 billion loan to Ukraine and the 20th package of sanctions were included on the agenda of the EU ambassadors and approved at the COREPER level, the spokesperson said.
He explained that both decisions will now undergo a written procedure for final approval by the EU Council.
The written procedure is expected to be completed tomorrow afternoon, the spokesperson said.
He added that the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union has been working tirelessly to ensure that the EU continues to strongly support Ukraine and exert pressure on Russia.
As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that with the resumption of operations on the Druzhba oil pipeline, Ukraine has removed all obstacles to the European Union’s allocation of a €90 billion loan.
