President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is in communication with nine countries regarding security matters.

He announced this on Telegram following a report by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov on the results of the first phase of cooperation with partners in the Middle East and Gulf region, according to Ukrinform.

“At this stage, Ukraine is engaged in security-related communication with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, Syria, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. We have received requests regarding cooperation with Iraq. Today we discussed the potential for joint work with the states of the Caucasus, as well as East and Southeast Asia. There are substantive requests from African states. We are also laying the groundwork for deeper security agreements in Europe—we expect to achieve results as early as this week,” Zelensky noted.

He instructed Umerov to finalize the drafts of several new security agreements and prepare them for signing.

“It is important that Ukrainian military expertise is recognized, and the combat experience of our soldiers becomes a strong component of our partners’ defense. Every nation deserves security, and we are ready to promptly and effectively support those who support our state and independence. This applies to defense against strike and other types of drones in the sky, as well as addressing security challenges at sea—Ukraine’s experience in the Black Sea can be applied to other globally important maritime routes,” the President emphasized.

As reported, last week during a conversation with journalists, Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he would soon hold talks with European partners on long-term cooperation regarding drone defense.
