Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov disclosed details of Russian leader Vladimir Putin's negotiations with representatives of the U.S. President – Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and White House official Josh Gruenbaum.

According to Ukrinform, the Telegram channel Astra stated this in a post, citing Ushakov's statement following the talks.

Ushakov said that the talks in Moscow, which lasted about four hours, were "entirely substantive and constructive," as well as "extremely frank and trusting."

He noted that the members of the U.S. delegation told Putin about their impressions of the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and President Volodymyr Zelensky in Davos and assessed the contacts that took place in December and January in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, and in several European capitals.

Ushakov emphasized that during the Moscow talks it was reiterated that "without resolving the territorial issue according to the Anchorage formula, one should not expect to achieve a long-term settlement."

Quoting Putin, Ushakov claimed that Russia allegedly has a sincere interest in resolving the war against Ukraine, which he called the "Ukrainian crisis," by political and diplomatic means. At the same time, he added that "while this is not happening, Russia will continue to consistently achieve the goals set within the framework of the so-called SVO, specifically on the battlefield."

Ushakov reported that the meeting at the Kremlin also discussed the creation of Trump's Board of Peace, the situation around Greenland, and a number of regional issues. Putin stated his readiness to allocate $1 billion from Russian assets frozen by the previous U.S. administration to the Board's budget.

"The remaining funds from our reserves frozen in the U.S. could be directed to the restoration of territories affected by hostilities, after a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine is concluded," Ushakov said.

He added that discussions on this topic will continue in the bilateral economic group led by Witkoff and Putin's envoy Kirill Dmitriev. Ushakov concluded his statement by describing Putin's meeting with the U.S. delegation as "useful in every sense."

As Ukrinform reported, the negotiations between U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and Russian leader Putin have concluded in the Russian capital.
