Syniehubov: Russians probing new directions for offensive in Kharkiv region
Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, reported this in a statement to Ukrinform.
“We are observing that the Russians are testing, possibly, new areas that they may choose as priorities for future offensives and attempts to advance deeper into our territory. So far, all these attempts have been unsuccessful for them. Our soldiers are in full control of all directions,” said the head of the Regional Military Administration.
Syniehubov noted that the Kupiansk and Izium sectors are under constant attack.
“We have an average of about 200 combat engagements per day across the entire front line. This indicates that they are constantly attacking, they are not easing up on the pressure, and the Kharkiv region remains a priority for them,” he said.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration clarified that as of now, the Russians have intensified their strikes, including on Kharkiv, using “Molniia” drones. According to him, the strikes are targeting the local population and civilian infrastructure.
“They cannot forgive the fact that the Kharkiv region is holding out, that the city of Kharkiv is living in relatively safe conditions,” he said.
Syniehubov added that Russia is also attacking the Kharkiv region with “Shahed” drones and guided aerial bombs, and missile strikes have been recorded.
As reported by Ukrinform, during an attack by Russian drones on the night of April 29, hits were recorded in various districts of Kharkiv, and a fire broke out.
