Damage to Qatar Embassy in Kyiv: Sybiha calls on Persian Gulf states to respond to Russia's aggression

“Russia’s overnight strike on Kyiv damaged the premises of a foreign diplomatic mission, the embassy of the State of Qatar to Ukraine. Russian strike is a grave violation of the Vienna Convention and a reminder that Russian brutality knows no limits. We stand ready to provide all necessary assistance to our Qatari colleagues,” Sybiha emphasized.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister called on the Persian Gulf states to respond through diplomatic channels and publicly to Russia's irresponsible and dangerous actions.
As reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the world, and above all the US, must respond clearly to Russia's large-scale night strike on Ukraine, during which they used a medium-range ballistic missile, the Oreshnik. The Qatar Embassy building in the capital was damaged.
On the night of January 9, Russian troops launched a combined strike on Ukraine using strike drones, as well as sea- and land-based missiles. In total, the Air Force's radio-technical troops detected and tracked 278 air attack vehicles, including 36 missiles and 242 UAVs of various types.
Air Defense Forces destroyed 226 Russian drones, eight Iskander-M / S-400 ballistic missiles, and 10 Kalibr cruise missiles.
In Kyiv, four people are known to have been killed and 25 injured as a result of the Russian attack. Sixteen victims were hospitalized.
