UN Security Council to discuss Russian attacks, humanitarian situation in Ukraine

The UN Security Council will meet on Thursday, November 20, to discuss the recent Russian attacks on Ukraine and the humanitarian situation caused by the war.

That is according to Ukrinform's correspondent in New York, citing the Security Council Secretariat.

The open meeting on the Ukrainian issue was initiated by the delegations of Denmark, France, Greece, South Korea, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom, in consultation with Ukraine's permanent mission.

Representatives of the UN Secretariat's political and humanitarian departments are expected to speak.

In addition, on Wednesday, November 19, the UN General Assembly's Third Committee, which deals with human rights, will consider an updated draft resolution on "The human rights situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol."
