Trump told this to reporters aboard Air Force One en route from South Korea to Washington, Ukrinform reports citing the White House YouTube channel.
“Ukraine came up very strongly. We talked about it for a long time and we’re both going to work together to see if we can get something done,” the U.S. President said.
“He [Xi Jinping] is going to help us, and we’re going to work together on Ukraine,” Trump added.
Trump described the meeting as excellent, saying that the leaders made a number of important decisions, though he did not specify which ones.
“It was an amazing meeting. He is a great leader, a great leaders of a very powerful, very strong country, China. A lot of decisions were made,” Trump said.
The U.S. president also announced that he and Xi agreed on future negotiations.
“That’s another thing we agreed. I’ll be going to China in April, and he’ll be coming here sometime after that, whether that’s in Florida, Palm Beach, or Washington D.C,” Trump said.
The talks in Busan lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes. Details of the meeting have not yet been disclosed.
Trump and Xi previously met in 2019 on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan.
On October 30, Trump and Xi held their first bilateral meeting since the former president returned to the White House.
