Ukraine ready to assist Moldova amid Russian interference in elections – MFA
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said this at a briefing on Wednesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"We know that Russia has made and continues to make enormous efforts to destabilize Moldova, pouring money and resources into it, attempting to destabilize through propaganda, disinformation, and various other methods and actions. In our view, all this constitutes gross interference in Moldova's internal affairs," Tykhyi said.
According to him, Ukraine hopes that Moldova's elections will take place in a democratic and transparent manner, giving everyone the opportunity to make their choice.
Tykhyi stressed that Ukraine, as a friendly country and partner of Moldova, "is always ready to provide assistance to prevent destabilization" in the country.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu said earlier that Russia had intensified its interference ahead of the country's parliamentary elections, scheduled for September 28.
