Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko and U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg discussed critical minerals and industrial assets that Russia is attempting to exploit in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

Svyrydenko announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Today I spoke with U.S. Special Envoy General Keith Kellogg about security guarantees for Ukraine. These guarantees must be genuine — grounded in the UN Charter, with full respect for our sovereignty. Not limited to military strength, they also encompass political stability and economic resilience," she said.

She stressed that a true guarantee of security is a strong Ukrainian army backed by a strong economy.

"Preserving the combat potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the development of our own defense industry remain top priorities. Equally critical is the return of all Ukrainians unlawfully held by Russia: prisoners of war, civilians, and abducted children must come home," Svyrydenko added.

"We also discussed Russia's illegal exploitation of critical minerals and industrial assets in temporarily occupied territories. Any attempt to legalize this theft through extraction or trade is unacceptable," she said.

According to Svyrydenko, the U.S. side sees potential for deeper cooperation — in investments, reconstruction partnerships, and new technologies. "We placed special focus on drones, which have transformed the battlefield," she said.

Svyrydenko thanked Kellogg for his clear support for Ukraine.
