The imposition of U.S. secondary sanctions would be an extremely efficient “weapon” to stop Russian aggression, with an economic impact comparable to "nuclear" force.

That is according to Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Dovile Sakaliene in an interview with Ukrinform.

“Secondary sanctions by the United States are ‘nuclear»’ in their capacity. And that would actually hit Russia's economy much more efficiently than everything that has been done now,” Sakaliene stated.

According to her, sanctions have already had some effect, but not enough.

“Secondary sanctions by the United States would be that extremely efficient ‘weapon’,” she emphasized.

Among other means of exerting pressure, the Lithuanian defense minister also mentioned demonstrating significant military strength to Russia by the Alliance — including the European bloc of NATO — and showing readiness to use it without hesitation.
