Russia escalating efforts to discredit diplomatic way to end the war – CCD

The Center for Countering Disinformation at Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council wrote this in a Facebook post, as reported by Ukrinform.

The Center warns that narratives claiming a lack of genuine support for Ukraine from the European Union and the United States, as well as allegations of the Ukrainian government’s supposed illegitimacy and unwillingness to pursue peace, are likely to spread.

Simultaneously, Russia may escalate disinformation efforts surrounding key international events, including the G7 meeting in Canada, the NATO summit in The Hague, and attempts to discredit the latest EU sanctions package.

Additionally, Russian information operations aimed at destabilizing political processes in Poland—during the second round of its presidential election—and in Italy—amid a referendum on simplifying citizenship procedures—are likely to increase.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, cautioned that signals in Russian media suggest preparations for new coordinated strikes against Ukraine.
