Trump’s address to Congress: several Democrats walk out in protest

Ukrinform
During President Trump’s address to both chambers of Congress, several members of the Democratic Party walked out in protest wearing black T-shirts with the word “Resist.”

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing CNN.

“During President Donald Trump’s address to Congress, several House Democratic lawmakers, including Reps. Melanie Stansbury and Jasmine Crockett, walked out while wearing “resist” T-shirts,” the report states.

According to sources, this happened despite a request from House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries not to bring such props to the joint session of Congress.

The main message that Democratic Party leaders wanted to convey was that their fellow party members should voice their opposition without turning the event into a spectacle that Republicans could later criticize.
