"Unfortunately, reports of the death of another Ukrainian have been confirmed. Thus, the total known number of victims among Ukrainian citizens is now three. Nine more of our citizens were injured. Their condition and the sites of their hospitalization are being clarified," he said.

Nikolenko added that six Ukrainians were feared missing. Diplomats are looking for them in cooperation with Israeli law enforcement officers.

He noted that the ministry's operational headquarters had already processed more than 1,000 appeals from Ukrainians who stay in Israel and the Gaza Strip.

According to Nikolenko, the Ukrainian boy rescued in Sderot is recovering after a successful operation. The child is under the care of the embassy and is receiving the necessary medical and psychological support.

About 1,200 Israelis are known to have been killed and about 3,000 injured. The fate of 150 people abducted and taken to the Gaza Strip is unknown.

Israel officially declared a state of war and called up 300,000 reservists to respond to a terrorist attack.
