Zelensky thanks Organization of American States for statement in support of Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has thanked the members of the Organization of American States for a powerful statement in support of Ukraine.

He released the relevant statement on Twitter, as seen by Ukrinform.

"Grateful to the 22 member countries of the Organization of American States for the powerful Statement of Support for 🇺🇦 approved at the 53rd session of the OAS General Assembly," Zelensky said.

He added that the calls for the “immediate withdrawal of the aggressor's troops from Ukraine and the prosecution of all those guilty of war crimes are extremely important."

"We appreciate the active support of the states of the American continent for efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine," the President emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Zelensky invited the members of the Organization of American States to join the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and preparation of the Global Peace Summit.

The Organization of American States includes 35 nations. The countries of the European Union, as well as 51 other states, including Ukraine, are Permanent Observers of the Organization.
