Ukraine's Anti-Corruption Court allows Tymoshenko to travel abroad for event in Zagreb

The relevant motion filed by the defense team was partially approved by investigating judge Oleksii Kravchuk, Ukrinform reports, referring to a broadcast of the court hearing.

"The investigating judge ruled that the motion should be partially granted. The obligation imposed on the suspect, Yulia Volodymyrivna Tymoshenko, to deposit her passport for international travel and other documents allowing her to travel abroad with the State Migration Service at her place of residence is to be modified. Permission is granted for the suspect, Yulia Volodymyrivna Tymoshenko, to temporarily obtain her passport from the State Migration Service for the purpose of an official trip from April 27, 2026, to May 3, 2026, to the Republic of Croatia, the city of Zagreb, in accordance with the order of the Speaker of Parliament dated April 14, 2026," the judge announced.

Under the court's decision, Tymoshenko is required to return her passport to the State Migration Service of Ukraine within three days after returning from the trip.

On January 14, 2026, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine notified Tymoshenko of suspicion over allegedly offering undue benefits to members of parliament.

The High Anti-Corruption Court imposed a preventive measure in the form of bail set at UAH 33 million, which has been fully paid.

On January 12, the court ordered the seizure of part of Tymoshenko's assets, though not all. In particular, it refused to freeze funds in one of her accounts, as requested by the prosecution.

Additionally, the court ruled to seize certain assets belonging to her husband, Oleksandr Tymoshenko, including a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 and an Audi A8, as well as two garages in the city of Dnipro.

On February 16, the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially overturned the first-instance ruling regarding the asset seizure.

On March 13, the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court extended until May 13 the duration of the obligations imposed on Tymoshenko.
