Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will push for fair peace in the war in Ukraine that included "territorial integrity" during a state visit to China next week.

Sanchez told this to journalists at the Ibero-American Summit meeting in the Dominican Republic, Ukrinform reports with reference to Reuters.

He said he would discuss peace prospects with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"The most important thing ... is that when this peace is reached in Ukraine, it will be fair and lasting ... and when we talk about fair, I mean that the territorial integrity of Ukraine, which has been violated by Putin, is respected," Sanchez said.

Sanchez plans to visit Beijing at the end of March. During the visit, he is expected to discuss Russia's war against Ukraine with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Sanchez was on a working visit to Ukraine on February 23. During the visit, he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky and addressed the Ukrainian parliament.

Last month, Beijing proposed a so-called 12-point "peace plan" and called for a comprehensive ceasefire in Ukraine. The Chinese leader during his recent visit to Moscow said that Beijing's position on the war was "impartial."
