Poland and Finland pledge to continue supporting Ukraine

Warsaw and Helsinki will continue to provide all necessary assistance to Ukraine to counter Russian aggression.

The Prime Ministers of Poland and Finland, Mateusz Morawiecki and Sanna Marin, stated this during a joint press conference in Helsinki on Sunday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Marin emphasized that Poland does a lot to help Ukraine and refugees fleeing the war. She emphasized that “Finland does its part too”, in particular, by recently deciding to provide military aid worth EUR 55 million.

The head of the Finnish government added that “more will come”.

Marin also emphasized that Russia should be brought to justice so that this country cannot violate international law with impunity.

“Russia thinks it can violate international law with total impunity, without any concerns about human suffering,” said Marin.

“We must find ways to force Russia to pay for the damages it has caused. The atrocities and crimes committed by Russia will not go unpunished,” Marin stressed.

In turn, Morawiecki noted that the Russian threat must be defeated once and for all, which he believes is “only possible when united and focused on key geopolitical risk and dangers.”

He also said that on November 15, Russia struck the critical infrastructure of Ukraine with a large number of missiles. As a result, two Polish citizens were killed. “Russia bears full responsibility for this," Morawiecki stated.

He added that in this context, Poland will not give in to provocation and will “stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine.”
