IAEA to inspect lab near Zaporizhzhia NPP after reported attack

According to Ukrinform, the IAEA reported this on the social media platform X.

The laboratory is located outside the plant, and no information about casualties has been reported.

“IAEA has been informed by the ZNPP that a drone targeted its External Radiation Control Laboratory (ECRL) today,” the statement said.

It is noted that the IAEA team present at the plant has requested permission to access and inspect the ECRL facility.

The report also emphasizes that IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stressed that “any attacks near nuclear sites can pose nuclear safety risks.”

As previously reported by Ukrinform, earlier this week the IAEA, citing the Russian occupation administration of the plant, said that a driver from the station’s transport department was killed in a drone strike near the facility.
