Several small vessels attacked a bulk carrier near the coast of Iran.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations.
The incident occurred 11 nautical miles west of the Iranian city of Sirik.
“The Master of a northbound bulk carrier has reported being attacked by multiple small craft,” the statement said.
All crew members are reported to be safe. No environmental damage has been mentioned.
The name of the vessel and further details of the incident have not been disclosed.
The UKMTO has advised ships to transit the area with caution and report any suspicious activity.
