Ukraine expects Poland to recognize Russia state sponsor of terrorism

Ukrinform
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, has thanked Poland for its stance on the need to further strengthen the isolation of Russia and its citizens, and expressed hope that Poland would recognize the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism.

That’s according to Stefanchuk’s Facebook post, seen by Ukrinform.

"Grateful to Poland for its clear position regarding the need to strengthen the isolation of Russia and its citizens, and I expect that our friendly Poland will make a decision to recognize the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism. Fortunately, we do not need to convince Poland of the need to support Ukraine. And as the war progresses, aid doesn’t stop flowing and neither does it shrink. Offering shelter to Ukrainians, treating Ukrainian Army personnel, providing military equipment and ammunition, freezing Russian assets, and banning visas for Russians – this is a far from complete list of what we owe to Poland," Stefanchuk wrote.

According to Stefanchuk, it is necessary to continue to fight in the international arena for Russia’s isolation, coordinate actions at the level of parliaments, and jointly pass decisions that would bring joint victory closer.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognized Russia as a terrorist state.

On August 11, deputies of the Latvian parliament adopted a statement declaring Russia a state sponsor of terrorism and calling its actions in Ukraine "deliberate genocide of the Ukrainian people."
