Ukraine expresses condolences over Sriwijaya Air flight SJ182 crash

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in Sriwijaya Air flight SJ182 crash in Indonesia.

"I am shocked by tragic reports of Sriwijaya Air Flight SJ182 crash in Indonesia. My deepest sympathy is with the families of the victims. Ukraine stands with the people and the government of Indonesia at this difficult time," Kuleba wrote on Twitter.

On Saturday, January 9, the Boeing 737-500, a Sriwijaya Air flight, crashed into the Java Sea four minutes after taking off from Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia.

The passenger plane was carrying 62 people (50 passengers, including 7 children, and 12 crew members).

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko informed that according to preliminary information from the Ukrainian Embassy in Indonesia and Sriwijaya Air, there were no Ukrainians on board flight SJ182.
