War update: 59 combat clashes since morning

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Since the beginning of the day, the aggressor has attacked Defense Forces positions 59 times," the update as of 16:00 states.

According to the General Staff, artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today, in the Sumy region, the settlements of Korenok, Bachivsk, Atynske, Budky, Sopich, Prohres, and Vilna Sloboda were affected; in the Chernihiv region—Zoria, Berylivka, and Hremyach.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, two combat clashes took place; the enemy carried out 49 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian positions, five of them using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian forces launched three assaults near the settlements of Prylipka and Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy conducted no active operations today.

In the Lyman sector, two attempts by the invaders to advance near Yampil are ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled two enemy attempts to advance near Kryva Luka and Riznykivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped two attacks near Nykyforivka and Virolubivka.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, the invaders carried out ten attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, and Stepanivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, since the start of the day, the occupiers have attempted 14 times to push Ukrainian troops from positions near Rodynske, Udachne, Novopavlivka, Novooleksandrivka, Molodetske, Novomykolaivka, and Muravka.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, Russian forces attacked four times near Sichneve, Yehorivka, Nove Zaporizhzhia, and Zlahoda.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces successfully repelled 19 Russian attacks near Zaliznychne, Hirke, Staroukrainka, Olenokostiantynivka, Yablukove, Sviatopetrivka, and Charivne. One engagement is ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attempted to advance near Shcherbaky.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the invaders conducted no active operations.

No significant changes have been observed in other sectors, and no enemy attempts to advance have been recorded, the General Staff added.

As reported, in April Russian forces increased combat activity in southern directions, particularly on the Prydniprovske and Oleksandrivka sectors, with the highest intensity of attacks near Huliaipole.
