Ukraine plans to conclude a mutually beneficial agreement on bilateral relations with Hungary which will become a road map.

"We seek mutual trust and support in relations with Hungary, so we will look for ways to build a constructive dialogue on sensitive issues. We are preparing for a meeting of leaders of the two countries. It should end with concluding a new document - a kind of mutually beneficial roadmap for our relations," Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Diplomatic Adviser to the President, wrote in an article for the Dzerkalo Tyzhnia newspaper.

Zhovkva added that a remarkable achievement last year was the successful diplomatic efforts which resulted in the election of Ukraine's Ambassador to Hungary as the chairperson of the Danube Commission.

He also stressed that it would be important this year to develop a clear algorithm for Ukraine to obtain a status of observer in the Three Seas Initiative.

As Zhovkva previously reported, Ukraine is willing to discuss the formats and level of involvement in the Three Seas Initiative and counts on the help of Polish partners. During his visit to Ukraine on October 11-13, President of Poland Andrzej Duda promised to initiate cooperation with Ukraine at the Three Seas Initiative summit on October 19-20 in Estonia.
