Starmer, Trump discuss Ukraine peace efforts, global security

“The two leaders began by reflecting on the war in Ukraine. The Prime Minister updated on work by the Coalition of the Willing to support any peace deal and ensure a just and lasting end to the hostilities,” the statement reads.
Also, the leaders discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Starmer also informed the U.S. President about the appointment of the new UK Ambassador to Washington, Dr Christian Turner.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, a meeting between U.S. and Russian officials took place in Miami this weekend as part of efforts by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at ending the nearly four-year-long Russian-Ukrainian war.
On December 19, a Ukrainian delegation led by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov held another round of negotiations in the United States.
