The European Union has not yet responded to Ukraine's request to appoint a special envoy for Crimea.

“The Crimean Platform issue. The dialogue continues. Of course, we, our mission and First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzheppar who directly deals with this issue, addressed the European Union and it took note of. We don't have an answer yet,” Mykola Tochytskyi, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium, Representative of Ukraine to the European Union, said at an online briefing.

At the same time, the ambassador expressed the opinion that Ukraine now should decide on the detailed format of the Crimean Platform.

"This is my personal opinion: now we have to decide on the format of participants – where it will be, on what platform it will take place, i.e. whether it is the OSCE, the UN, the EU or another format. I mean, where exactly and on what elements the platform will be based on. And then we should insist on the appointment of EU special envoy," the diplomat added.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that Ukraine supports the appointment of EU special envoy for Crimea.
