Ukraine praises Croatia's support in struggle for its sovereignty – deputy parliament speaker

Ukraine highly appreciates the consistent support of Croatia in the struggle for its sovereignty and territorial integrity and progress through European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk said this at a meeting with Croatian Ambassador to Ukraine Anica Djamic, the Ukrainian parliament's press service reported.

Kondratiuk congratulated Djamic on the successful holding of the July 5 parliamentary elections in Croatia.

"The interlocutors discussed the situation in the two countries in the context of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, as well as issues of cooperation in the field of tourism, given that at this stage, Croatia is one of the few countries where Ukrainians can go on vacation this summer," the report reads.

Djamic, in turn, stressed the importance of the systematic, dynamic and mutually beneficial development of cooperation between Croatia and Ukraine in bilateral and multilateral dimensions.

Kondratiuk and Djamic also exchanged views on the agenda of Ukrainian-Croatian cooperation in the second half of 2020.
