Government to start indexation of retirement pensions in May – social policy minister

“From May, we will conduct the indexation of retirement pensions by 11%. After indexation, 7 million retired persons will receive a guaranteed increase. In addition, starting from May, we introduce a pension increase for one and a half million retired persons aged over 80 years. It will be a monthly payment totaling UAH 500 to the pension,” Lazebna said at an online briefing, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

She also said that from April, a one-off payment totaling UAH 1,000 would be paid to retired persons receiving pensions less than UAH 5,000 per month.

“We have more than 10 million such retired persons. More than 400,000 recipients of social benefits, who receive this benefit instead of the pension, will get the one-off payment. These are people who have disabilities since childhood, these are children with disabilities and they are recipients of social pensions,” the minister added.
