The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine expressed concern about the raid of Russian security forces on the home of activist of the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Simferopol Olga Pavlenko.

"We are concerned by FSB’s raid on the home of Ukrainian Cultural Center co-founder Olga Pavlenko. Another example of Russia’s systematic campaign to suppress Ukrainian identity in Crimea," the embassy posted on Twitter.

At about 6 a.m. on August 29, representatives of Russian de facto authorities in Crimea raided the home of Ukrainian Cultural Center Olga Pavlenko.

The human rights activists believe that the real purpose of persecuting Pavlenko is her civic stance and popularization of Ukrainian culture in Crimea.
