Canada’s strong support for Ukrainian sovereignty is very likeminded with the U.S..
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said this after a meeting with Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Canada’s strong support for Ukrainian sovereignty and maintenance of their territory is very likeminded with the U.S., and we have shared many, many discussions about how we can progress the talks in Ukraine to lead to Ukraine’s restoration of its full sovereignty in the face of Russia’s aggression," Tillerson said.
"Our countries also stand shoulder-to-shoulder in NATO, and we appreciate Canada’s decision to send troops and a lead battalion in Latvia, which underscores Canada’s commitment to the strength of the alliance in Europe and NATO," the US Secretary of State said.
