Ukraine, Romania simplify border traffic in May
KYIV, May 5 /Ukrinform/. According to preliminary agreements, the local border traffic will start working at border settlements between Romania and Ukraine from mid-May.
Romanian Consulate General in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, Eleonora Moldovan stated this in an interview.
"The agreement on local border traffic, which was signed in Kyiv on October 2, 2014, is now actually in the final stage of ratification. In general, Romanian and Ukrainian parties have already passed all the internal procedures of ratification. Now we find out through diplomatic channels the rest of technical features for the entry into force of this agreement in a few days or weeks," she said.
Moldovan recalls that the agreement provides for simplified movement across the state joint Romanian-Ukrainian border for citizens living in the border settlements.
The local border traffic will be involved in the border areas of Chernivtsi, Odesa, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions.
