Witness: Lazarenko ordered Shcherban's killing in Tymoshenko's interests

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Pavlo Lazarenko ordered the killing of businessmen Oleksandr Momot and Yevhen Shcherban in the interests of Yulia Tymoshenko.
KYIV, February 14 /UKRINFORM/. Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Pavlo Lazarenko ordered the killing of businessmen Oleksandr Momot and Yevhen Shcherban in the interests of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
A witness in the case on Shcherban's murder, Ihor Maryinkov, said this at a meeting of the Pechersky District Court in Kyiv on Thursday
"There was an order from Lazarenko in the interests of Tymoshenko. There was an order [to kill] Momot and Shcherban. I learned about it in August 1997, when Riabin [a member of the criminal gang of Kushnir that organized Shcherban's murder] underwent treatment in Kyiv," the witness said.
