Pointing to the need to return to negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, Türkiye has expressed readiness to host the next round of talks.

This was discussed during a phone call between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Ukrinform reports citing TRT Haber.

“The prolongation of hostilities poses serious risks for both the countries in the region and the international order,” Fidan said.

The Turkish foreign minister reaffirmed his country’s commitment to facilitating a resolution.

“Türkiye is ready to host the next round of negotiations between the two countries,” he told Lavrov.

It is noted that during the conversation, the ministers exchanged views on specific steps that could be taken to end the war as soon as possible and bring the parties back to the negotiating table.
